James Peltier is CTO of Jonas Fitness and the Group Chief Technology Officer at PYXiS Software Group, where he leads technology strategy, architecture, and innovation across a diverse portfolio of software companies. With more than three decades of experience in software engineering, architecture, and leadership, James has built a career at the intersection of technology and business growth. He co-founded SignMeUp.com in 1999, a SaaS pioneer in online registration and event management, and served as its CTO for over 20 years. Under his leadership, the company developed robust, scalable technology solutions that attracted thousands of clients and ultimately led to its acquisition by Jonas Software, a division of Constellation Software (TSX:CSU), in 2016. Prior to his current role, James was Director of Software Architecture at EZFacility, where he spearheaded architectural modernization and adoption of cloud-native and microservices-based platforms. Earlier in his career, he held engineering and leadership positions at Matrix Technologies and Ispat Industries (formerly Inland Steel), gaining deep expertise in software systems supporting industrial and enterprise environments. James’ technical expertise spans full-stack development, SaaS platforms, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and continuous integration. He has worked extensively with Microsoft and open-source ecosystems, including .NET, C#, Angular, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and AWS. Beyond technology, he is a proven leader in aligning teams, mentoring developers, and driving organizational transformation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and is also an inventor, credited with patents in glassware forming system automation. Throughout his career, James has been recognized as both a hands-on technologist and a strategic executive who bridges innovation and execution, enabling companies to scale and succeed in competitive markets.
