Rob Barker has spent his whole career in the sports and fitness industries.
Rob is currently a consultant and shareholder at EGYM, the Munich-based 1+ Billion Euro leader in fitness technology. Rob is also a Board Member and shareholder in two European-based fitness club operators: Holmes Place, Portugal’s leading premium health club operator, and Tribute Brands, a boutique fitness franchise business of the TRIB3 and Pilat3s brands.
Rob started in the local authority leisure sector before advancing through the UK fitness industry with equipment supplier Precor. In 2013, Rob moved to Seattle, USA, to become the global President of Precor and an Executive Board member of Amer Sports, a € 5 billion leader in sporting goods with brands such as Arc’teryx, Salomon, Atomic, Wilson, Suunto, Peak Performance, Mavic, Enve, and Precor.
In 2021, Rob led the sale of Precor to Peloton, and in 2022, he relocated with his family to Portugal to work in the European fitness market as an investor and advisor.
Rob is also an Advisory Board member of Nottingham Business School, a keen sportsman competing in “any event that gets me out of my comfort zone, in nature, with like-minded people”.
